  • Guidelines:

    Using de novo and currency-based guideline development methods according to GRADE. I can develop guideline methodologies or support guideline development with systematic searches and the production of meta-analyses (where applicable) to generate GRADE-based recommendations.

    External appraisal of guidelines and protocols plays a crucial role in enhancing content and quality. Allow me to be on the external reviewers team. My focus areas include statistics, evidence-based support, meta-analysis, guideline development, and recommendation formulation.

    Health Protocols and Policies:
    In various industries such as aviation, health protocols for clients and staff are essential. For optimal effectiveness, updating and revising these guidelines should be done systematically and evidence-based. I provide thorough evaluation of your protocols, offering evidence-based recommendations for improved policies and work protocols.

    You want to know the available evidence, gaps and opportunities are on your topic of your interest? The best way to answer your question is by systematic literature reviews (SLR). Evidence-synthesis help inform policies pave a way forward or explore new fields in the industry. 

    For example, you want to know if COVID-19 has impacted HIV epidemiology, or maybe you want to know what bacteriophage technology can be of use in the food industry. Perhaps you want to review if your pilots are safe to fly with a herpes zoster infection?

      Example: I developed a high school biology appendix for HPV vaccination lectures including pupils with an islamic background. The aim was to enhance education on HPV vaccination considering the pupils backgrounds (see publication).

  • Fact checking, debunking, detangling of misconceptions, misinformation, false frames related to public health, infectious diseases and more.

    Example: I worked extensively with journalists, authors, and politicians on fact-checking and debunking misconceptions about COVID-19, Monkeypox, vaccines, vaccine hesitancy, HPV, sexual diseases, and how certain groups of people are positioned.

    • Translation of complex matter to lay-men language

    • Shifting evidence to useful communication tools.

    • Embed scientific matter in non-scientific material (media, movie, marketing)


    Examples of recent activities:
    Commercial marketing: Embedded theory of immunology and microbiome development in children for a commercial children play program.

    Media production: Informed a public Dutch Media outlet (Nieuwsuur) on fake news and misconceptions about Monkeypox, and how to put this in use for the show.
